Early Childhood programs at Barnum Public Schools support children and families from birth through preschool, creating a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Through ECFE, families with children birth to age 5 learn, play, and grow together while building connections and gaining valuable parenting resources. Our Preschool program prepares children for kindergarten through hands-on learning, social development, and engaging classroom experiences. Together, these programs nurture confident learners, strengthen families, and support every child’s growth during the important early years.

GOALS At Bomber Club, our goal is to be the best place for your child when they cannot be at home with their family. We provide a warm, caring, safe, healthy, and stimulating environment where all aspects of a child’s development are valued and supported. We are committed to respecting and honoring the cultural, economic, religious, and political diversity of every family we serve. We believe that strong partnerships with parents are essential, and we encourage families to stay actively involved in their child’s experience. Parents are always welcome to review program plans, share ideas, and contribute to their child’s development. Bomber Club proudly serves a diverse community of youth with varying abilities, including those with identified special needs. We emphasize positive youth development and encourage youth-led activities that foster independence, confidence, and leadership. Through a commitment to high-quality programming and continuous improvement, we create an environment that inspires growth, creativity, and exploration. We also recognize the importance of community partnerships in expanding opportunities, strengthening support systems, and bringing innovation to our program. To support ongoing excellence, a Bomber Club Accreditation Stakeholders Team has been established to guide and assist in the accreditation process. COMPLIANCE Bomber Club is dedicated to maintaining full compliance with all applicable rules and guidelines established by Public School District 91, MnSACA, the Minnesota Department of Education, the Minnesota Department of Human Services, and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

The Barnum Public School District is committed to providing a high quality, developmentally appropriate experience for our young learners and their families. Our program values our outdoor learning spaces while also preparing students for their next step-Kindergarten. Both morning and afternoon sections will be spending a significant amount of purposeful time outside and balancing that time with routines and activities that prepare them for future academic settings. Classes are Monday-Thursday with some predetermined Fridays to allow us to meet requirements for funding.

About Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is all about helping families with children from birth to age 5 grow, learn, and thrive together! ECFE supports parents and caregivers in creating a strong foundation for their child’s healthy development during these important early years. Through fun, engaging activities, parents and children learn side by side while building meaningful connections with one another. Families also have the opportunity to connect with other parents, share experiences, celebrate successes, and support each other through challenges. ECFE offers practical, research-based information on early brain development, child growth, parent-child relationships, and positive guidance strategies—giving families tools and confidence to navigate each stage of early childhood. ECFE is offered in two sessions each year—one in the Fall and one in the Spring. The cost is $40 per session, but we believe every family should have access to this valuable program, so cost should never be a barrier. Assistance is available for families who need it. At its heart, ECFE is a welcoming community where families learn, connect, and grow together. Fall of 2026 registration will begin August 1st.

For trips and special events, sweatshirt, cold lunch, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and a backpack that fits everything. You must wear your Bomber Club shirt, (non-BC kids will borrow one for BC trips), tennis shoes and socks. (sandals are NOT allowed) *The only exception to this is the Minnesota Twins Game. The Target Center has their own set of rules as to what is allowed/not allowed at the baseball field. Be prepared for rain on outside trips, we will go rain or shine. The only exception for rain is a Bike Ride, it will be canceled. Field trips have a minimum of 20 participants, maximum of 50, unless noted otherwise.

Preschool classes provide children with the foundational skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to grow and succeed. Through hands-on learning, play, and meaningful interactions, children build the skills that prepare them for a successful school journey. These early experiences nurture physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development while encouraging curiosity, independence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. Barnum Public Schools offers preschool classes for all children who are 4 years old before the start of the school year, ensuring every child has the opportunity to begin their educational journey with a strong foundation. We offer half-day preschool sessions, and through our partnership with Little B’s Learning Center, families also have access to all-day childcare options, providing flexibility and support for busy schedules. Preschool is more than just preparing for kindergarten—it’s about helping each child learn, explore, and thrive in a safe, supportive environment.
